The Joys of Home Ownership

My wife and I have finally done it - purchased a domicile of our own. It is a roomy 2 bedroom 2 bathroom condo 200 feet from our previously rented condo.

Now we are discovering all the little things to do/pay for that we never had before. Though i do not mind doing these little things, if I hear the phrase "the joys of home ownership" one more time my next discovery will be how to cram it down someones throat.

The move went smooth thanks to a ton of help. Services are slowly getting hooked up, all the walls are freshly painted, a hardwood floor is planned for the hallway, and most importantly my computer and 13 fish seemed to have all survived.

Candy Corn

1. I really needed to update this place and post something.

2. That something is Candy Corn. I love Candy Corn!!! You know when people as if you were on a desserted island what one food would you want, I very easily could answer Candy Corn. Steak or pizza might be a better choice, but Candy Corn would be good for me. I love the pumpkins also, but can' t eat as many in one sitting as the corn.

What is your favorite candy?

New Position

As of November 30th I have moved departments into a new position. I am now a Technical Trainer in the Learning & Development department. For now I will be going through training on how to teach the orientation classes for new hires. I should eventually begin teaching those classes early next year.

Survived another weekend...

Got out of work on Friday. We waited unitl about 8 and then headed to Puerto. Amazing how streets and locations come back to you so easily even after 3 years. Found Carusoe's, the italian resturant. Service was bad, the food worse. We received 2 of the wrong items and 1 was still cold. The salads were still good though.

Then headed to O'donahugh's. We sat outside and ended up talking to an older american couple from New York. The husband was in the AirForce at one time and was station in England. Very nice people. We then went to another bar because of someone's suggestion. Stayed for about an hour and decided to call it a night. Had to walk past Nino Perdido on the way to the car and our favorite hotdog vender was there. Imagine a hotdog with warm ketchup, crushed patato chips, and cheese - the best. The price has been bumped to $2 though. Got boack to my room around 3:30 am.

On Satuday we went to a bullfight. Got in the stadium at 6:30 pm and the fights started at 7:00 pm. Very warm and crowded. Left at 9:30 pm and went to Molly's. They were going to have flemenco dancing, and we had dinner there as well. Ian has completly redone the roof with tables and a smaller bar he sometimes opens it up for drinks. Again got home around 3:00 pm.

People that know me know that I am not religious. But the whole day of rest on Sunday works for me, and that is what we did. We went to Pizza Villa (or Village depending on who you are) for dinner and then back to our rooms.

I imagine the next week will be pretty calm and slow.

Back in Spain

Here I am back in Spain and of course not everything is going normal. Our advance per-diem is not in yet, and one of our peoples luggage got lost. Going back to the airport to hopefully get it later today. Check in with PSD and Security went well. We will find out tomorrw what our work schedule will be, though it looks like H. will be helping out with the bike patrol school.

Weather is nice and we have already been to Mollys for some cider. Also stopped by Christines for grilled tuna and garlick shrimp. I am not even having a problem with jet-lag.

More later.
